Four Eyes Principle

Concept of Four Eyes Principle

Four Eyes Principle is sometimes called the two-man rule or the two-person rule. The Four Eyes Principle is that two individual people need to be involved in two steps and review before it can be released.

In ZADA Portal, we use four eyes principle when issuing Digital Credentials. The first person prepare and submit the credential for approval request. The second person reviews and when approving, the credential is issued. This is to mirror a process many organisations have today with two people needing to sign documents etc.

How Four Eyes Principle Works on ZADA Portal

As this principle needs two people for approval, two accounts are needed to approve on ZADA Portal. Below follows 1) a video to introduce it plus a step guide with one issuer account and one admin account.

Step1: Issuing Credentials (Single or Batch)

First of all, we will use issuer account and issue credential by single issuance or batch issuance.

Actually, this step is not issuing credential, just sending credential details for approval.

Step-2: Approving or Rejecting

In this stage, admin account will confirm credential details sent by issuer and decide to issue credential to user or not.

Functionality of Requests

In Requests feature, we can see the requested credentials. If we want to search, we have various filters for searching.

  1. Issued To Name

  2. Phone

  3. File Name

  4. Search by Date

There are three main functions in Requests feature. These are

  1. VIEW DETAIL

  2. APPROVE

  3. REJECT

1. VIEW DETAIL

This feature allows to view details of credentials.

2. APPROVE

After seeing the details of credentials and all of the credential details are correct, we can use APPROVE button. The credential is issued if we approved. And then we can check on "Approved” list which stores approved credentials.

3. REJECT

This is for rejection and “Rejected” list stores rejected credentials.
